A couple of days ago I played the demo for the new XCOM demo on my PlayStation and I was pretty much blown away! I loved the original Laser Squad game on Amiga and UFO on PC (also called X-Com for whatever reason). This was exactly the kind of wargame I liked to play on a computer. The new game looked like an updated version of the old standby without any modern humbug. Thumbs up! I immediately ordered the game.
But it also got me thinking. As much as I like this kind of game, I never really gamed it with miniatures. Now, big part of the original game is the hidden movement which is kind of hard to do on a tabletop, but I think this would still be doable.
I didn't create my steam tunnel tiles for this, but they sure could come in handy. I think I'll need to cook up a test game and see how it goes. Watch this space...
