Sometimes Even I Am Surprised

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Celts Big companies are big and faceless, right? Even when they ask for your input, you just get a "we'll look into it" form letter in response, right? They say cynics are rarely disappointed, but it seems that sometimes they are genuinely surprised.

Marcus Ansell has taken lead of Foundry, which quite frankly had been floundering in the past couple of years. Even though I hadn't actually ordered anything from them in quite a while, I was still on their mailing list and Marcus' periodic updates were interesting to read.

Then two things happened. First of all, I got back into gaming Darkest Africa with the new Muskets And Assegai rules. I also received an email from Marcus asking people to tell which packs they'd like to see back in production. I really wanted to get a particular figure that I'd missed when I initially bought my Africa collection. I figured an email doesn't cost a lot, so I fired one off asking for this figure.

I was fully expecting to get a form letter in response, so I was really flabbergasted when I not only got a personal reply from Marcus but he had also actually rifled through the out of production moulds looking for the figure I had asked for!

Castle Chelmsford 3-D Ironically, the figure I was missing was actually already in production. I just hadn't found it on the web site...

But still, Marcus did put a bunch of zanzibari and ruga ruga moulds I also asked for back in production. Now I really need to beef up my slav... eh, employment agency forces.

Thumbs up!

P.S. Yes, I did order that figure. It's the butler with a tray of drinks in the Stanley expedition pack. I also ordered a bunch more paints so now all the redshirts don't have to have the same red shirt anymore.
