Resolutions

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Space Comrades I'm not usually big on New Year's resolutions, but I thought I could try it out. As most serious miniature hobbyists, my storage is overflowing with figures bought for some long forgotten project (or simply because they were cheap at the time). To slightly reduce the pile, I've decided to try to paint up a platoon of troops from the archives every month.

A platoon shall be defined as a minimum of 24 infantry or 12 cavalry models. It must be composed of figures I already own (this pretty much locks the scale to 28mm) and obviously the figures should compose a coherent unit of some sort.

The work can be started in advance, but one platoon should be finished every month.

The first such force on the table are the Space Comrades in the picture. These were some extremely cheap plastic figures I bought a long time ago because, well, they were cheap. They're pretty stiff one-posers done in slightly low quality plastic. I'm painting a force of 45 figures. There were actually 50 in the box, but I'm not really fond of the sergeant figure so only included half of them. Maybe I can make statues or something of the remaining sergeants later on.

I think the figures are still available through em-4 in case you're interested.

On the plus side, the box included tons of weapons options. Now that I'm finally doing the figures, I can use the remaining weapons for conversions.

I have also bought the same one-posers for the same reason. And my figures are also waiting for to be painted - as part of my Chaos Marines. Sigh.
