Destruction Workshop

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Sunken Wrecks I finished the sunken vehicle wrecks I've been working on. I also started post-production on the how-to video about the wrecks. I have roughly 90 minutes of raw footage I should probably trim down to ten minutes or so. That should prove interesting.

In addition, my video camera played a trick on me and cut short the most important clip -- now I need to go back and redo it... well, there's still about a week to enter it into the contest.

What I've learned, or rather reminded myself of, during this little expirement is that making a nice looking video is a lot of work. Even though I don't usually take a whole lot of retakes, putting it all together in post-production is a lot of work.

Yes, it's simple to point the camera at your face, blab about something for a few minutes and then just hit upload. I just don't want to do that. Besides, who'd want to look at my ugly face anyway? If I just want to blab about something, I'll make a podcast instead.

I wish I had a video editor that could do graphic overlays, that would be really useful with these videos. A better camera wouldn't hurt either. Actually, I'm thinking my still camera probably has better video than my "real" video camera simply because it's a couple of years newer. And a decent mike so I could do voiceovers.

Portuguese Cacadores P.S. It's not all wrecks either. I managed to get my Portugeuese rolling. The figures are cleaned and on bases waiting for primer. I just need to find out what color their blanket rolls were before I can get to painting them.
