Cacadores Join The Fight

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Portuguese Cacadores I finally finished my Portuguese Cacadores last night. I bought these on a whim because Black Powder Napoleonics is the new hot thing at the club, I wanted to see if I could paint them and Foundry just happened to have these on sale (before I spotted the sale I was planning on starting a Russian army).

Well, to tell you the ugly truth, I'm not too happy with the results. I tried to paint these fast but it still took quite long. There's just so much little detail even though these are very simple uniforms by nappy standards. There are details missing and apart from the base uniform color they're largely unshaded. I can't remember when I stooped this low last time. Yuck!

The sad part is that they'd be easy enough to improve. I just blew my fuse with all the fiddly stuff and the difficulty of finding proper color references (I have several uniform guides, but none of them show details on the kit).

Now I still have 36 line troopers to handle, and I even have to buy officers for them... if I make it through that, there's cavalry and artillery ofcourse.

Insert ridicule below.
