Resolutions May: Archers Assemble

May 16, 2013 08:20

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Archers Assemble Another resolutions batch done! This time it's archers from an old Warhammer Fantasy starter set. May have been the 5th edition, I never really played that. I just bought a big pile of these from an auction a few years ago. Despite selling and giving away a few of them, I should still have well over a hundred of them unpainted.

Wars of the Roses, maybe?

I did these as simple and quickly as I could. Still, due to some other commitments it took me two weeks to finish them. They're really just a basic dip job. In my opinion, the trick to making dip jobs really work even this well is selecting a color palette that can be shaded with a single color. These are painted completely in muted shades of brown.

Except for the helmets, which I did separately.

Archers Assemble Next up is the real hurdle for this thing: The three months of summer. Maintaining the painting output during the dark winter is relatively easy, but locking myself into the painting shed gets more and more difficult as the weather improves. Well, we'll see how this goes...

Next month... I think I see something short.
