Project H: Fifth Playtest

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Heist v0.11 Playtest Dice City Dancing Girls' Persion Fund became the scene of a fearsome armed robbery yesterday as the nefarious criminal Mr. Markkanen and his gang decided to relieve the fair ladies of their savings.

Fortunately Dice City Police Department had been tipped off and the boys in blue soon surrounded the financial institution while the SWAT team prepared to force entry to apprehend the criminals in one fell swoop.

The initial assault went well under the cover of a teargas grenade and the criminals quickly retreated deeper into the bank offices, leaving the thirstiest of their members to hold the SWAT team at bay as Pennilä decided to make a stand behind the soda machine.

The SWAT team braved even grenades and executed a brilliant tactical takedown, taking heavily wounded Pennilä into custody.

Heist v0.11 Playtest Unfortunately, Markkanen managed to hold the street cops at bay with grenades long enough for the getaway car to arrive. Lieutenant Korhonen was furious that the side entrance had not been properly guarded!

We had more grenades tossed in this game than all the previous games combined. I think I will make a small adjustment to the grenade rules but otherwise the game flowed fine. Perhaps the scenario setup would need a little bit of adjustment, maybe a pair of street cops to guard each entrance so the heisters can't simple choose the unguarded one for their escape.

With the rules pretty much done, now it's time to write more scenarios. The thing that slows me down there is that drawing the maps is really slow. I think I will instead try setting up sample gaming tables and taking photos of them.

As usual, more photos of this session in the photo section. I will also update the projects page shortly.
