Resolutions December: Orc Assault!

Dec 11, 2013 08:40

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Orcy Goodness! And we are done!

These 31 orc warriors are the final resolutions batch, bringing this giant project finally to the end. I will write a more detailed report soon, but right now all I can say is: whew!

You could say I cheaped out with this selection, but December is always a difficult month and quite frankly I wanted to make sure I would have time to do the stuff I really want to do. Yes, there it is, I said it. The fact of the matter is that the resolutions stuff was a bit of a chore. It did get me painting stuff, but much of that stuff I had no clearly defined use for.

But that's the way it is. If you really want to clear the lead mountain, you must bite the bullet and just paint stuff even if you have no immediate use for it. Who knows when having a couple hundred orc warriors ready to go would prove handy? It's too late to start painting when the gates of Mordor are already crashing down...

Right now I have zero desire to do any bulk troops. In fact, I already started doing some terrain items. Heist is not only a game that requires a lot of terrain, but it is also a game that looks vastly better with more decorative items in the board.

Orcy Goodness! I already did one moondome set from the silly cheap discount toys I stumbled upon and I have another in the works. Fear not, a full pictorial is forthcoming.

But more importantly I had another idea for a modular building interior set. Watch out for the Mall of Death(tm)! This will be more upscale and more modular than my previous test set made from old packing crates. More furniture is also in the works.

Nothing is more dangerous than a man with an idea.
