Project H2: Tanky Goodness!

Jan 22, 2014 09:40

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Hammer's Slammers Tanks Yes, I'm still waiting for my Slammers decals but I couldn't help but finish these tanks anyway. Field modifications will have to wait a while.

That pretty much completes the Slammers portion of this project. While it would be interesting to add more Slammers, this is already a huge force in the game. Slammers are pretty much the technical and training pinnacle of their universe -- in practical terms this means that every Slammers vehicle needs at least two opposing units to create a reasonable game. Build a full Slammers company and the table will groan under the weight of anything resembling viable opposition.

These vehicles were pretty easy and fun to build. They're also all traditional brushwork, I didn't break out the airbrush for these. One interesting thing to note is that while the sloped form factor looks nice, they are very difficult to pick up from the table...

Hammer's Slammers Tanks These were also the first models with major photo-etched parts I've built. It was easier than I suspected and quite frankly that is pretty much the only material they could have been built of in this scale.

I will be adding the decals when they arrive and maybe some stowage items, and then I need to order stuff for the Prosperity rebels... as soon as my card is greenlighted again.

Meanwhile, it's high time I got some masked men under the brush...
