Project H: Creeping along

Jan 28, 2014 09:03

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Mercenaries January is almost over and I just barely got more Project H figures on the workbench. There's just been a lot of other stuff to occupy my time, including the Flintloque figures, my diorama competition entry (more on that a bit later), Hammer's Slammers stuff and activities not related to gaming. For one, winter is finally here and fun snow activities await those brave enough to stick their nose out in -15 degrees centigrade.

"Yeah, but it's dry cold", to paraphrase...

Project H can be a bit difficult to get figures for since it's not a military game. These figures are sold by The Assault Group as Russian criminals/terrorists. They are pretty good, but their boots and cargo pants hint at their origin as more conventional military figures.

I'm still looking for good figures of balding middle-aged guys in suits with shotguns and assault rifles...

After these are done, I have some Street Violence figures from Foundry and the zombie survivor figures from Wargames Factory. And I need to get more riot cops from TAG as well... the DCPD collection has grown to alarming proportions quite sneakily.

How true, it is to find guys in civilian clothes with AKs and shotguns, and maybe some odd MPs, and not in camo and jump boots! If you find good ones, tell me!

I actually just found a small set from Crossover Miniatures, in sneakers, jeans and sports jackets with G36c's no less! I'll order a sample set shortly. They have head variants and also more cops for the DCPD.

Some of the TAG Somalis could also work as Mexican drug gangers or similar, especially if you do head swaps. I'll probably get another set of those and try other skintones on them.
