The sign of a good game is that you spend 100 hours with it without even really realizing. The problem with playing two good games back to back is that you suddenly find 200+ hours of hobby time vanished into thin air.

That's what Dark Souls and Demon's Souls did to me. Dark Souls was so good I went off and bought Demon's Souls before even finishing the first game. And then I played the other one too without skipping a beat.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Finishing my Deadloque figures had left me drained and with no desire to be anywhere neat a paintbrush. The Souls games invigorated me both as a break from painting but also as a great source of inspiration. I have already started plans for some skill-based fantasy skirmish action...

So I started with the tribal warriors I was supposed to paint for the New Year's Resolution but I also dug up some excellent Black Tree crossbowmen. They should be fun to paint and will provide a good counterpart for the halberdiers I did last year. And I really need to get some more, but let's not get ahead of things.

I also got the wheels rolling on Project H2. I fired up the airbrush and tested the stencils I got from Anarchy Models on a Starship Troopers drone flier first. They work great, though I obviously have a lot to learn about using them. I also should have got more of the mini stencils, most of the ones I have are only really suitable for 28mm vehicles and larger.

So for the Prosperity rebels I decided to do the camo using the old blu-tac method, which worked pretty well I think. I'll try out some digicamo with the blower tank destroyers once I get these finished.

Right now I have something like 75 models on my workbench. Models I should easily be able to finish this month, so it looks like we're back on track again.

P.S. For some reason I got entwined in a discussion about gaming Gundam and ordered a bunch of Assault Kingdom models. One Year War, here we come! Oh yeah, and VOTOMS too... what have I done?
