Project H2: Prosperity Rebels |

Yeehaw! The Prosperity rebels are done! Well, almost. I still need to do a couple of detachable mortar mounts for the jeeps, but that should be a doddle as soon as I can find the necessary bits.
I fired up the airbrush for this. I thought about using my new stencils on these, but I was still a bit unsure about their use and quite frankly there were so many of these to be done I decided to go with a quicker method, namely stenciling with blu-tac. That worked pretty well I think.
I still can't shade with an airbrush, so I used it just to apply the base colors and then the rest of it is a pretty basic wash and drybrush job.
I chose to use a generic red star as the symbol on these tanks. Even though they are initially meant for the Prosperity game (or games, haven't really decided yet), my plan is to make two generic sci-fi tank armies in 15mm. One will be green and the other will be tan.
Still haven't decided what would the symbol for the other army. White star is an obvious choice, but it has really limited visibility on a tan background. Maybe a generic roundel of some sort?
I did try out the stencils, though. For that I chose this drone from the old Starship Troopers line simply because it's a really simple model and it has lots of flat surfaces.
The stencils work great, even though they are really a bit too large for this model. I should have gotten more of the mini ones for 15mm vehicles. There's still a lot to learn, though. I should have been bolder going over the edges of the model with the stencils. There was also a bit of a issue with paint being pulled off when I removed the stencil, next time I will use spray primer.
Oh yes, and that's one of my new flight bases in use. Now I'll have to modify all my old flying models to use this stand type...
