Resolutions July: More Greetings From Africa

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Tribal Warriors All's well that ends well, right? I finished this month's batch with ample time to spare. Which is a good thing, since I'm leaving on a trip soon and couldn't have painted them anyway.

These are yet more of my Foundry Darkest Africa tribal warriors. I think I bought a tribal horde back in the day and these are all from it. We used to play In The Heart of Africa and I got these as reinforcements, but the campaign unfortunately died out before I could get these painted.

There should still be a batch of Azandes for the next month, plus some Masai and assorted random warriors, witch doctors, European adventurers etc. But by the end of the year I probably need to move to other 19th Century subjects such as Geronimo's band (I have the Foundry set) and Mexicans.

Tribal Warriors Summer vacation is good for two things: First of all, I get more reading done than pretty much the rest of the year combined. In addition to some fiction, I have some non-fiction about Japanese destroyer actions on the line. The Kindle remains a solid purchase, even though having the batteries run out on your book is a bit embarrassing.

But it is also good for prepping miniatures. Lugging a full painting kit to the summer cottage is a bit too much, so instead I take a box of unprepped miniatures, my trusty scalpel and some files. Possibly even some snippers and glue if plastic is involved. Last year I prepped my Baughast this way, this year I will probably concentrate on the colonials and perhaps medievals or fantasy minis.

I really need to reorganize the hobby room again, and clearing out complete boxes of minis would be really useful.

I'll figure a use for them later. How much later, I dont' know.
