Let it snow... The weather has turned to freezing (barely) temperatures and we got a little bit of something vaguely snow-like. The forecast promises more of the white stuff, so I guess there is a chance for a white Christmas after all.

I put in a leisurely six hours and got the jungle fighters and the security detail to varnishing stage. I'll be basing them today. Also started on the detail work for the next batch and gave a platoon of power armor troopers a wash. I decided to emphasize their high tech armor by making it monocolor, boots, gloves etc. all being integrated components instead of separate pieces of gear. This does make them marginally easier to paint, but that wasn't really the prime consideration. And hey, that's how I painted my first Space Marines back in the 80's too...

In general the project is very much on schedule and even if there is a slight dip over the holidays, I should have no trouble finishing this in time.

One of the final batches (pictured) is vaguely familiar, but I just can't place them. I would bet they are from some old scifi movie or TV series, but I can't pinpoint it. The helmet shape is very distinct with a large two-part visor. Maybe you recall where they came from?

In other news, I dropped by the store and got a PS4 for the family. I hadn't planned to buy it just yet, but what the heck, it's Christmas. Then I watched a little more ZZ. The series tone is getting more and more serious, but it suffers from a lack of red shirts. The entire AEUG fleet seems to be Jude and his friends and the level of suspense suffers because they never take losses. Heck, they're never even disabled, while in Z I lost count how many times named characters got their suits' arm or leg blown off. Dreissen's nice, though, and a worthy successor to the venerable Dom. And I think I just saw the pivotal point in Glemy Toto's character development. The kid's growing on me...
