Resolutions November: Sisters and Crusaders

Nov 17, 2015 14:00

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Firstborn Desert Crusaders A little bit of odds and ends as I clear the remaining Firstborn infantry. I think I have a couple of mounted knights and a chariot or two, but as far as I know it, I'm done with the infantry now.

Quite frankly the Desert Crusaders are not among the best figures in the Chronopia line. They were introduced with the Stygians but I feel most of the effort went into the new army instead of these additions. As I had not painted them before, I went with a new color scheme and a more modern style.

The Black Sisters on the other hand are pretty neat, only really let down by the typically meager pose selection. They somehow remind me of a certain John Blanche painting from the 80's, even though the hair isn't quite that massive.

I painted each Sister with different hair color to make them more distinct. I don't normally like painting black, but I think these turned out reasonably well.

Though I think the later Blade Maidens are better figures in the same vein, and with greater pose selection to boot. They'll be making an appearance somewhere in the future.

P.S. Oh yes, and then there's the lone Archer Leader. I have no idea why I bought it because I have no archers (they were probably the worst figures in the line). The leader is passable, but the troopers are strange pinheads.
