Burnout

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

I'm not going to say "temporary hiatus". For anyone familiar with amateur web comics, that term has become an euphemism for "this comic will soon be discontinued, but the creator has just hasn't accepted it yet."

If you've been following my painting diary, you might have noticed a slump in production figures lately. I won't bore you with the details, but my mind hasn't been on painting lately. The painting-related part of that is that I wanted to get my celtic cavalry done and off the desk and quite frankly, I have absolutely no inspiration to do the bloody barbarians -- despite loving Rome.

A sure sign of lacking interest is that I haven't even thought about buying new miniatures...

A hobby shouldn't be a chore. I don't even have the excuse that I need the figures for a game. I can't exactly recall when I played a game. Why force yourself to do something you find no joy in? This is supposed to be fun. A short pause will probably restore my enthusiasm. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get the final few celts done so I can start a new project I feel enthusiastic about.

But right now, Burnout Revenge is just so much more fun.
