Swords & Sandals

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

My new WAB books arrived yesterday (and I just printed out the errata). On a quick browse the rules don't seem to have changed in any major way, though there are several subtle tweaks (like limiting rank bonuses which will promote more linear formations).

The army book lacks flash completely, but does contain 100 or so lists, pure sand simple. The point system has undergone a revamp and is not compatible with earlier books -- but then again basically all the lists are redone here anyway. I need to recalculate my existing armies.

Later hoplite greek, Syracusan, early Carthaginian... even the Spanish get their own list for those enamored with pigskin hoodies. I'm stoked about this.

I also ordered Black Powder and Hail Caesar. Read a couple of reviews for the rules -- looks interesting, but I definitely don't have 500-figure armies or a 10'x15' gaming table. Let's see how the rules handle scaling down (scenic bases might be one way).

Putting finishing touches on my US Tank Company and my modern British are slowly progressing.
