Project V: VC Gets Sprayed

Mar 27, 2012 09:36

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Vietnamese Though not with Agent Orange this time. I fired up my trusty airbrush (an Iwata HP-C which is complete overkill for me and I don't really know how to use it properly) and put base color on my infantry companies.

This time the painting went fine, which suggests the previous problems with the British were due to some problem in the paint itself. I use Vallejo ModelAir for airbrushing, basically because I don't trust myself to get the mixture correctly (trust me on this, I tried and it didn't work. Either the airbrush would clog or the paint was so thin it would just run off the model).

Vietnamese I chose the tannish early war color scheme to better differentiate these from the Americans. Let's see how this works out. The plan is to add some detail color and then just wash these with Vallejo sepia shade.

Next time: The initial test batch.
