Project V: Charlie's Here!

Apr 11, 2012 12:14

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Charlie's here! Well, Project V is now officially all done. This is quite astounding, considering I only reallly started it three weeks ago. Usually my projects take a year or more, if they are finished at all. The scale and the resulting lower acceptance level did play a part in that, but on the whole I am quite satisfied.

Now I just need to read the new rules and get a game together. My friend and partner in project Mr. A has been doing a sizable force of Americans and he finished even faster than I did. Pretty good going.

All this has led me to thinking about terrain. As I have primarily gamed in 25mm, most of my terrain is for that scale. Some terrain items are usable in multiple scales, but it isn't always as easy as one might think. E.g. 25mm scale stepped hills seem like sheer cliffs in 15mm and smaller scales.

Charlie's here! Final figures:

Project supplies: 4 boxes of figures, token set

Cost: 118 euros (after discount)

Time to finish: 20 days

P.S. Now I need to dig the battalion HQ box out from the trash and fire off a letter to Battlefront customer support. Let's see how that goes.
