Customer Service

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Recently, I've had the chance to test the customer service of two companies.

Charlie's here! As I already mentioned, my Vietnamese HMG's came without the actual gun barrels. I wanted to get them done, so I just repurposed some M2 Brownings left over from my Shermans, but I decided to write to Battlefront customer support just to see what they would do.

After locating the customer support section at their website, I noticed they want the packer code from the box. Well, the box was already in the hobby room trash bin, but I managed to fish it out and sent the requested details to customer support. To their credit, they promptly replied that my barrels would be in the mail.

And they were, I just got them yesterday. Except they sent me recoilless rifle barrels instead of machinegun barrels. Oh well...

Another customer service incident was when I decided I need more foam to put the Vietnamese in. I ordered a batch from Feldherr, very late at night and my brain wasn't working anymore. Feldherr sells the trays and the tray bottoms separately and even though the shopping cart suggested getting the bottoms, I completely forgot to add them to my order.

The next morning I realized my mistake and fired off a quick email to Feldherr. I asked them to add the bottoms and how I could pay (since I already approved the credit card charge). They told me they added the foam sheets free of charge.

Wow! This was completely my own fault and they didn't really have to do anything, but they did above and beyond as the saying goes. Admittedly a few foam sheets aren't hugely valuable, but it's the thought that counts.

Looks like I need to take some pics of the foam storage...
