Project R: Russian Invasion

May 30, 2012 11:57

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Ok, I finally finished all my uniformed Russians. Now it's just the handful of partisans left. Now I have 90 of them ready to play. All they need is some opposition...

Russians galore! Doing the final 29 in basically one batch was maybe a little too much but I did get them done. I would have liked to pay a little more attention on these special units like the scouts and the sailors, but painted beats bare metal any day of the week.

I also tried a new basing technique with these. I used some Vallejo grey sand paste on the bases, which I think looks pretty good. Better than the pumice paste, which I think was too coarse for this scale really. And the grey color is usable as is, it doesn't really need to be painted though I did give it a light drybrush.

Russians galore! As for the opposition, I do have some Germans and Americans. I probably should do the Germans, but I'm just not very motivated to do that right now. I'll more likely pick another oddball, like my Indians or some such. We'll see. And I definitely have those modern figures that have been sitting on my desk far too long. I guess it might be time to flex my three-color muscles again.
