I've always liked to look of Warmachine, but never really got into the game for various reasons.

Well, recently I noticed a store selling off some Warmachine stock at hefty discount, and the good old Vulture Squadron sprit in me was awakened. I scoured the discount listing and ordered a set of Menoth figures shown in the picture.

I don't have the rules and have no idea how to construct a force for Warmachine, I simply started with the starter box and added other figures based on their looks. I intentionally kept away from the infantry figures because quite frankly I don't think they really fit into a game about steam-powered robots...

I'm not sure I'm too hot for the official Menoth white color scheme either, maybe I'll cook up something else even though the factions seem to be pretty color coded. We'll see.

Since the purchase, I've been doing two things: Reading a bit about Warmachine and Hordes... and itching about buying more of the figures while they're still on sale. Those Everblight dragon thingies look nice...

Unfortunately the stuff I've been reading about the actual game has not been quite so positive. It seems the actual game revolves a lot around TCG-like synergies between the special abilities of various figures. Personally, I'm not too fond of that sort of a game. Maybe I'll just end up using the figures for some other game, especially the Hordes monsters would fit nicely for a fantasy RPG.
