No Regrets

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

It's kinda trite, but the things I regret most are things I didn't do.

One of such this was not getting the Dwarf Dark-Tusk Totem when I was getting my Chronopia figures. Ok, my excuse is that by the time I was buying up Chronopia Target and the whole game line was already pretty much dead in the water and that particular figure was hard to get.

New Chronopia stuff Fast forwarding a lot, Prince August acquired Target's remaining stock and has been selling them for mostly quite reasonable prices. Especially the box sets are quite frankly steals compared to current prices for similar figures. But this one particular figure wasn't in their lineup. Ironically, it's about the only figure in the Chronopia Dwarf lineup that I really really liked. Ok, so the tuskies with round killing things were pretty cute, but this one I really liked.

So I was browsing the Prince August site a while back drawn in by one of their emails. I didn't figure they'd really get anything new in Chronopia since these figures have been out of production for 10 years or so, but... there it was: A brand-spanking new Dark-Tusk Totem! And going for a ridiculously low price to boot!

Frankly I'm slightly worried I did not order it on the spot, reasoning I haven't been playing Chronopia in ages... actually, I've never played it with the official figures. We played a few games with proxies when it first came out, but I got the actual figures later. But finally my resolve crumbled and I ordered the box and some rare blisters to bolster my Chronopia forces.

Dark-Tusk Totem The package arrived a couple of days ago. The figure looks nice, but quite frankly it must be some late production batch or something. The casting quality on the metal bits is not very good and their fit to the resin body is poor, especially for the tail bit. Looks like I have something of a modeling project in my hands.

I think I must dig up more Chronopia models and try to build up real field armies of them instead of the small skirmish troops that they currently are. That would fit my figures better anyway, since I have plenty of the basic trooper models but a significant shortage of leaders and specials.

Miss Piggy's Finest Here's the piggy with his round killing thing, to round things off. Oh, and the mention of a field army reminded me of something very special I need to do...
