Oldies but Goldies

I took these pictures as an art class assignment back in high school. Yup, long ago. The school was saving money, so I had a choice between black and white print film, or color slides. I took the color, which was nice in a way but resulted in these pictures being unused for over a decade...

Among the examples you see my first (and last) attempt at double exposure effects. Figures are mostly old Citadel, back when they weren't so cartoony and were priced competetively.

The swamp is water, milk, blue ink and Kellogs' Rice Crispies. Note the chaos sorcerer's base -- that's real treebark. One of the chaos dwarves has a terrifying shield device. After that, none of my friends would give me their photos anymore. Funny...

If you have really keen vision, you might notice the invaluable source of inspiration present in the pictures.

The last two pictures are actually more recent, but I stuck them here anyway.

Chainsaw bazooka
The Chainsaw Warrior(tm) fires a missile with fancy special effects.
1985-01-01
Dragons posing in front of a DragonLance calendar
Not a very good shot.
1985-01-01
RPG fake
A faked shot of RPG combat in progress.
1985-01-01
The world map
When I took this picture, I hadn't even heard about Final Fantasy...
1985-01-01
Duel
Old school Chaos Sorcerer vs. Paladin.
1985-01-01
The scary shield
The dragon is the excellent original Tom Meier Zombie Dragon. Funny thing is, after I did this, none of my friends would give me their photos anymore...
1985-01-01
Ghostly Skrag
A semi-successful attempt at double exposure. I quite like the figure though. I still think it's one of the better ones I ever made, and it's done with enamels.
1985-01-01
Skrag
Much worse shot of Skrag and a Chaos Dwarf from the Good Old Days(tm).
1985-01-01
Explorers in the swamp
The swamp is milk, rice crispies and blue ink.
1985-01-01
Zombie dragon in the swamp
As you can see, the ink doesn't stay swirly for too long.
1985-01-01
Iron Dragon
That's a Grenadier Iron Dragon up against a Citadel Paladin.
1985-01-01
Up on the branches
The base tab is showing...
1985-01-01
Equipment
I actually did these pictures as an art project in high school. So this is not a filler shot, it really is meant to display the equipment. Spot Hidden: Where's the source of painting inspiration?
1985-01-01
Storage
In the old days, I had all the time but none of the money...
1985-01-01
At work
Yours truly faking painting. Note the beverage of the gods.
1998-01-01
Desk
Another filler shot. Ironically, this comes from a period when I painted very little.
1998-01-01
Desk
Another desk shot.
